Developing the next generation of global health leaders
LSTM’s educational mission extends far beyond our Liverpool campus. Apart from our MSc programmes, we deliver professional diploma programmes that develop global health capacity worldwide, particularly in parts of the world where the need is greatest. Furthermore, we have a suite of short professional courses available both on campus and online for working professionals, and we have partnership programmes with institutions across Africa, Asia, and beyond.

Receiving professional recognition for your education contributions
LSTM values exceptional teaching and educational innovation as highly as research excellence. We provide multiple externally accredited pathways for academic and professional staff to gain recognition for their educational contributions and advance their careers through teaching excellence.
For staff new to educational practices, we offer the LIGHT (Taught) programme that leads to Associate Fellow (D1) recognition of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023).
Staff who have prior educational experiences can gain recognition via the LIGHT (CPD) programme. Available recognition options include:
- Associate Fellow (D1)
- Fellow (D2)
- Senior Fellow (D3)
Staff who are research supervisors or on career track can explore the PSF2023 based on their professional priorities in research and education. Equally, staff on professional roles can consider the PSF2023 framework by aligning their professional roles with the criteria for recognition.
Tailored support through peer mentoring or role specific guidance is available by contacting the Faculty of Education to pursue professional recognition through any of these categories.
