Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy

Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2026-2029 demonstrates our commitment and our approach to the institutional values of inclusivity, integrity, partnership and impact. It covers four themes:

  • Fostering a culture of inclusion and promoting a strong sense of belonging.
  • Communication, understanding and mutual support.
  • Embedding intersectionality and equity throughout institutional practices.
  • Leadership and accountability.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion annual reporting (including pay gap reporting)

In line with the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) and responsibilities under The Equality Act (2010) we are committed to publishing information annually to demonstrate our compliance. We work beyond the minimum statutory requirements, and aim to be an employer where our global community of staff, students and partners feel valued.

We are committed to building on our efforts, knowing we can, and will, do more on all aspects of ED&I. We look forward to reporting our progress on these important priorities.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion governance

Our ED&I Committee fosters a culture of inclusion and diversity. It undertakes transparent and inclusive decision making and supports institutional ED&I initiatives, efforts and objectives. The committee is chaired by Phillippa Tubb and co-chaired by Dr Rachel Tolhurst . It reports to our Senior Leadership Team.

The committee has representation from across LSTM and the wider education sector. All ED&I staff networks, committees, charter self-assessment teams and action groups nominate their committee chairs.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion staff networks

Staff networks create a space to celebrate difference, foster inclusion and support diverse group needs.

  • Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage Network.
  • Disability and Carers Network.
  • Women at LSTM Network.
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender, Intersex and Asexual Network.

Our ED&I network chair meetings feed into the ED&I Committee meetings to ensure intersectionality.
