Library

Our library provides world-class access to knowledge in tropical medicine, infectious disease and global health. Combining historic collections with up-to-the-minute digital resources, it supports students, researchers and global partners in-person and remotely.

A student with red hair sits at a desk in a library, focused on writing notes in a notebook with a red pen. He wears a dark jumper over a checkered shirt and a lanyard around his neck. Shelves filled with colourful academic books line the background. On the desk in front of him is an open notebook, and a clear water bottle with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) logo. Green fabric study dividers provide a quiet, focused workspace.

At the heart LSTM, our library is a world-class resource supporting discovery and innovation in tropical medicine and global health.

Founded in LSTM’s earliest years with books donated by Nobel Laureate Sir Ronald Ross, today, our library connects students, researchers and partners across the world with the knowledge, data and tools to drive lasting impact.

Our specialist collections span tropical diseases, epidemiology, international public health, humanitarian studies, entomology, parasitology, paediatrics and reproductive health, reflecting the full breadth of our research and teaching.

Whether you’re conducting laboratory research, leading a field study or analysing health systems, the library provides access to the authoritative information that underpins world-leading science.
