Dr Lauren Sullivan MP

Biography

Lauren is a Member of Parliament representing Gravesham since July 2024. Lauren sits on the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee and is the Chair of the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST). Before she was elected she completed her PhD at the University of Dundee where she developed a diagnostic test for African Sleeping Sickness (Trypanosomiasis). Β After a short break as a secondary school teacher, Lauren returned to research where she worked at the Francis Crick Institute investigating Malaria. Alongside her work at the Francis Crick Institute Lauren was an elected Councillor for both Gravesham Borough Council and Kent County Council where she served on many committees and held Cabinet Executive roles.
