Biography
Jayne Jones is a Health Care and Professions Council state-registered Biomedical Scientist with more than 30 years’ experience in diagnostic parasitology. Jayne manages a team that provide a high-quality United Kingdom Accreditation Service clinical diagnostic parasitology service that is used by Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) clinicians and health professionals locally and throughout the UK.
Jayne’s role involves management of the laboratory plus a quality management role that ensures the clinical diagnostic parasitology laboratory staff and procedures adhere to ISO standard 15189.
She is a member of the Institute of Biomedical Science, actively participating in their continual professional development CPD scheme and a member of the North West Pathology Quality Managers forum. She is also a member of LSTM Laboratory Users Group and the LSTM Biological Safety Committee
Research interests
Jayne’s research interests are focused on diagnostic parasitology, quality management, pathology, and accreditation.
Teaching
Jayne contributes to the LSTM professional short courses.
