English language requirements

If you’re from a country where English is not the main language, you will usually have to take a test to prove your level of English.

Accepted tests and minimum scores

LSTM English Language Waiver programme

If you are applying for a professional diploma or short course, or the online MSc in Global Health, you can apply to the LSTM English Language Waiver programme. It offers an alternative route to meeting our English language requirements, taking your educational background and professional experience into account.

Exemptions 

You do not need to prove you meet our English language requirements if:

  • You have a qualification equal to UK degree, that was taught in English, in a majority English-speaking country or territory (excluding Canada).

If your degree was taught and assessed in English, but not in a majority English-speaking country, you can use the Ecctis English Proficiency and Qualification Comparison to prove your level of English is sufficient, and your qualification is equivalent to a UK degree.
